OpenId.. The Future of the Web?

OpenID aims to being about a global Web Identity system for every netizen. It is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity. OpenID starts with the concept that anyone can identify themselves on the Internet the same way websites do-with a URL/ Web Address.

This sounds interesting, and is heavily dependent on the Netizens. I like the idea of freedom for all. However, I strongly belive that extreme democracy results in anarchy. Unmonitored freedom of a joint resource, eventually leads to a collapse.
It will be interesting to see how this particular concept gets polished. The present version of the specifications are pretty detailed, though they do have some open questions.

So developers, administrators and users, can check out http://openid.net/
